A cool customer
Founded in 1969, Holdsworth Foods started as a small family-run operation dedicated to providing high quality food products to local publicans. As demand grew, the company expanded its facilities and capabilities, investing in advanced temperature-controlled distribution systems.
Today, Holdsworth Foods operates multiple warehouses and distribution centres in Derbyshire, Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, Bedfordshire, Worcestershire, Powys, Essex and Dorset, serving a variety of customers including restaurants, hotels, schools, hospitals, cafes, pubs and other distributors. Their focus on temperature-sensitive products ensures that clients receive fresh, high-quality items, maintaining the integrity of their supply chain.
Feeding industry
Holdsworth Foods’ commitment to maintaining the integrity of products — whether frozen, chilled, fresh butchery and produce, or ambient goods — has made them a trusted partner in the food industry.
At the heart of Holdsworth Foods are core values that guide their operations: integrity, quality, sustainability and customer focus. The company is dedicated to reducing its environmental impact through initiatives like renewable energy usage and efficient logistics, while always prioritising the needs and satisfaction of their customers.

Using sunshine to keep cool
Recognising that their customers require increased visibility and action to tackle greenhouse gas emissions through their full supply chains, and that generating their own green electricity would epitomise its company values, Holdsworth sought a specialist who could design, procure and install the best performing and most reliable technology. Following a competitive selection process, Mypower installed a total of 1,604 panels across three sites, with a total installed capacity of 673.68 kWp.
The combined systems are forecast to save Holdsworth £165,496 and reduce their carbon emissions by 122.2 tonnes in the first year alone and will continue to provide stable and predictable operational energy costs for many years to come.

“Holdsworth lives and breathes our values, and we see that business action on reducing environmental impact is critical. This is a very public and long term commitment, so we needed a solar installer with the right pedigree, track record and integrity to do it right first time, handle the individual needs of each site and to ensure the systems deliver reliably. Mypower did it right first time and have done every time since. We know we’re in good hands.”
