Mypower wins double at the Cold Chain Sustainability Awards!
Mypower wins two national awards at Cold Chain Federation Sustainability Awards
Mypower is proud to announce that it has won two major awards at the Cold Chain Federation’s (CCF) Sustainability Awards. The CCF represents 270 members who operate over 450 specialist storage facilities and run more than 40,000 vehicles and refrigerated trailers, providing critical food distribution services across the nation. These prestigious awards recognise members and associate members leading the way in sustainability and delivering excellence within the industry.
Mypower was honoured with the following awards:
- Supplier of the Year 2025
- Sustainable Partnership Project
The Sustainable Partnership Project Award recognises Mypower's collaboration with AJK Cold Stores, a Hull-based cold storage operator. Together, they worked to significantly reduce AJK’s carbon footprint through the installation of solar PV. Over several years and multiple installations, Mypower helped overcome the challenges associated with AJK’s older building stock, delivering substantial reductions in carbon emissions and significant financial savings. This award underscores the power of partnership and renewable energy in transforming commercial and industrial rooftops into green energy powerhouses.
Mypower, renowned for its quality and attention to detail (including the iconic solar PV installation on Gloucester Cathedral), is absolutely delighted to receive this recognition.
Neil Stott, Mypower’s Business Development Director, commented:
"A sea of solar and a few rays of sunshine have transformed AJK’s Net Zero plans. In 2025, their 1.78MWp (equivalent to 4,346 panels) solar PV system will help them avoid 294 tonnes of CO2 emissions. The commercial benefit is also significant, with the 1.4 million kWh of clean electricity generated annually at an equivalent cost of 5p/kWh versus a grid price of 20p/kWh – I’ll let you do the maths on that…."
The Supplier of the Year award recognises the impact Mypower has had in supporting businesses throughout the cold chain industry and across the UK. The award highlights Mypower’s commitment to helping these businesses tackle climate change while reducing their own environmental footprint.
Ben Harrison, Managing Director at Mypower, said:
"Winning these awards is a testament to the dedication of our team, the trust of our clients, and the collaboration with our partners. Together, we’re helping businesses across the cold chain industry and many other energy-intensive sectors take meaningful steps towards sustainability, all while making significant savings on their electricity bills. A huge thank you to everyone who has supported us on this journey!"
