Mypower sponsors Gloucester Rugby player, Arthur Clark
Mypower sponsors Gloucester Rugby forward Arthur Clark for 24/25 season!
Mypower is proud to announce their sponsorship of up-and-coming Gloucester Rugby forward Arthur Clark. Man-mountain Arthur broke into the first XV side last season, making numerous appearances for the cherry and whites, including being part of the starting line up in Gloucester’s European Cup Final, where he held his own against one of World Rugby’s second row superstars, Eben Etzebeth.
Mypower’s support of the game started and continues at a more grass roots level, with sponsorship in place at Stow-on-the-Wold rugby club, which was where Arthur spent his formative years playing alongside Mypower’s Managing Director’s son, Jack Harrison; the club that also happens to be the early stomping ground (from the age of 7) of Gloucester legend, Ollie Thorley.
Established in 2010, which in the world of commercial solar design and installation businesses makes Mypower one of the more experienced companies in the UK. We have installed rooftop solar extensively for companies across Gloucestershire. Well-known local businesses such as Stewart Golf, Markey Group’s Premiere Kitchens, Leeways, International Plywood, G-TEM, Dairy Partners, Gloucestershire County Council’s Shire Hall, Oxstalls Sports Park and of course our 2017 Award Winning Installation on Gloucester Cathedral have all benefited from Mypower’s solar PV systems.
It is an interesting time for solar though, Mypower’s MD Ben Harrison, comments ‘With the change in government, we’ve seen a step change in the approach to utility scale renewable energy, with very sizeable solar farms being approved to proceed. This is a contentious matter, removing large areas of agricultural land from food production, to provide central generators, does have its downsides. As a business, we focus on the more immediate and local solution of utilising dead space rooftop areas, to provide low cost and green energy directly to the business on site, saving significant sums on electricity costs’.
Ben comments, ‘The majority of our customers see their business’s rooftops providing between 30-40% of their annual electricity needs at an equivalent price per unit of 4-5p/kWh, compared to a typical grid price in the region of 20-25p/kWh, significant saving in anyone’s book. The provenance of their clean energy is certainly not in doubt when it’s produced from your own rooftop.
We’re really proud to be sponsoring 6ft 8in 125kg lock Arthur and look forward to seeing him bringing his power game to Gloucester this season in the same way we’ve brought our power game to businesses and sports clubs across Gloucestershire, over the last 14 years.’
